Two Doors Down…

Can I borrow a cup of sugarBy Jamie Heiden

Gloria wanted to have the cake all baked and frosted by the time her Mom came home from work.
She knew it would make her smile…it had been a while since she had seen her smile.
All she had left to add was the sugar. Should she ask Mrs. Gladstone or old Mr.Turner…
Oh how she wished her sugarbowl wasn’t empty.

Dear Millie,

Dear MillieBy Jamie Heiden

Millie lived on top of the hill just outside of town. She
shared her house with forty-seven spiders, as best she could
tell, and a small family of mice who kept to themselves most
of the time. Twice a week Millie would walk down the hill and
into town to the United States Post Office to collect her mail.
Tuesdays never brought anything special but Thursday’s pile always
had a letter from a man named Charlie. She had fifty-three of these notes.
Today’s started like all of the rest…

Dear Millie,
My name is Charlie and I know we have never met.
